11.04.10 - Photo Archive Update

As has been written and said recently Boca are going to the dogs. Well, yesterday we did, quite literally with a visit to Swindon Greyhound Stadium. After three appearances and one goal, recent signing Wayne Parkhouse has decided to rejoin Bideford Reserves.

27.02.10 - New signings

We have strengthened the squad further with the signings of two new players. James Galliford rejoins after spells with Appledore and Braunton and striker James Davey who was a free agent.

Despite the best efforts of the 'ground staff' today's game versus Barnstaple AAC is postponed due to the snow covering the Rock Park pitch.

24.01.10 - Chris Collins

Unfortunately, today's Torridge Cup game against Appledore was abandoned after five minutes due to a horrific broken leg suffered by midfielder Chris Collins. Everyone at Boca Seniors Football Club wishes Chris a speedy recovery and we hope to see him able to come and run the line very soon.

Thanks also go to the Appledore staff and players for their support after the incident and of course the paramedics for their help.

20.01.10 - Congratulations Taz!

Congratulations to Taro Bishop and his partner Ashley who are proud to announce the recent birth of baby son, Rio. Welcome to the Boca family!

18.01.10 - Albert Beer

We were very sad to hear of the recent passing of Devon Football Association and North Devon Football Association president Albert Beer. Albert was a very well respected member of the local footballing community and will be missed by everyone involved in the game.

In April we had the honour of being presented with the Devon Premier Cup by Albert in what was one of his final public duties as Devon FA president.

Boca Seniors Football Club would like to pass on our condolences to Albert's family and friends and would like to express our appreciation for all of his dedication to North Devon football over the years.

10.01.10 - Training

With the likelihood that our usual training night at Pilton School on Tuesday will be cancelled, we have booked an hour at the North Devon Leisure Centre on Wednesday 13 January beginning at 8pm. Stay tuned for any other re-arrangments due to the bad weather.

In addition to the signing of Wayne Parkhouse we are also pleased to confirm the signing of Jordan Charran from North Molton. Both players will give us additional options in attack and will strengthen the squad greatly.

After a short spell at former club Barnstaple AAC, Darren Babb has decided to rejoin us. As a result of this, current No. 1 Jimmy Thorne has opted to make the switch in the opposite direction. We wish both the best of luck for the forthcoming season.

The North Devon FA have announced that due to Torridgeside's inability to field a side for our first game of the season on 22.08.09, we have been awarded the victory and the 3 points.

04.09.09 - Charles Norsworthy award winners

On Saturday 6th June, the Devon FA held their 2009 Annual General Meeting. The AGM is an opportunity for clubs to have their say and cast their vote on matters which affect matters at grassroots level in Devon. This year it was held at Passage House in Newton Abbott.

As well as voting on various issues the AGM is also an opportunity to acknowledge the success and achievements of the previous twelve months.

For our Devon Premier Cup victory we were presented with the Charles Norsworthy trophy, a very prestigious award which recognises outstanding achievements.

Pictured below are Club Manager Darren Todd and Secretary Dave Loder picking up the award from the Devon FA Committee.

After six fruitful years with Boca, Darren Babb has decided to rejoin Barnstaple Ammies. On behalf of everyone at the club we would like to thank Babbsy for his contribution to our success over the years and wish him all the best at his new (old) club. 22.02.09 - Boca reach Devon Premier Cup Final!!

Boca Seniors FC have reached the Devon Premier Cup Final for the first time in the club's history, beating South West Peninsula side Exeter Civil Service. In doing so we became the first North Devon League side to achieve this fantastic feat. Goals from Ross Maynard, Lee Langmead, Giles Daniel and Mark Barrow secured a famous victory. Full details for the final including date and venue will be confirmed as soon as we know it.

We have arranged for a 53-seater coach to take us to Witheridge next Saturday for the Devon Premier Cup semi-final against Exeter Civil Service. Anyone wishing to join us is welcome. Cost is £3.00 per person. Coach leaves at 12pm from the Wrey Arms.

We have been advised that the Devon Premier Cup semi-final against Exeter Civil Service will be played at Witheridge FC. Kick-off 2pm. We are considering organising a bus to take the team and anyone wishing to get to the game. Please get in contact if you would like to join us.

For those of you who didn't tune into Radio Devon this morning, we have drawn one of the favourites Exeter Civil Service in the semi-final of the Devon Premier Cup. Exeter Civil Service currently sit forth in the Carlsberg Southwest Peninsula Division One East and conquered Appledore in the last round. After yesterday's win in the quarter final of the Devon Premier Cup, be sure to tune in to BBC Radio Devon at 9am tomorrow morning to see who we'll be facing in the semi-final.

11.01.09 - Saturday 17th January

Due to Grosevnor FC withdrawing their team in the close season we have been given a bye into the next round of the Brayford Cup. Therefore, we have no game on Saturday 17th January. Instead we will train at the Tarka Centre, time to be confirmed later this week.

30.12.08 - PDC Premier League Darts

As part of our continuous bonding programme we have acquired 17 tickets for the PDC Premier League Darts at Exeter Westpoint on Thursday 9th April 2009. 21.12.08 - Devon Premier Cup 1/4 final

Due to yesterday's victory over Totnes and Dartington we have drawn Heavitree United in the quarter final of the Devon Premier Cup. The match is home on Saturday 24th January with a 2pm kick-off and will replace the existing league tie versus Barnstaple AAC which will be re-scheduled.

Further rain has resulted in the postponement of today's Devon Cup 4th round tie versus Totnes & Dartington. It will be played on Saturday 20th December, which was free. Kick-off 1pm.

Due to a combination of heavy rain turning to frost, today's game versus Totnes & Dartington has been postponed until next week. This will replace the existing league fixture against Braunton which will be re-scheduled.

Last Saturday's twice postponed Devon Cup 3rd round tie has been re-arranged for this Saturday 22nd November. This means that the originally planned league game versus Ilfracombe Reserves will now be re-arranged for another date which will be confirmed.

Saturday's cancelled Devon Premier Cup match versus Kingskerswell & Chelston has been re-scheduled for Saturday 14th November. The match will be played at home, kick-off 2pm. Once again we've teamed up with Sporting Barum and Sunday League team The Wrey Arms to put on another race night on Saturday 22nd November at The Wrey Arms. If you went last year you'll know what a great night it was and that it raised a lot of money for each club. Entry will be £5 on the night which will include a big buffet. The defence of our league title will begin on Saturday 30th August at home to Putford. Full details and complete fixture list to be published here in the next day or so.

17.07.08 - Next week's training

In order to up the fitness regime, there will be two training sessions next week. The first will be on Tuesday 22nd July and will be held at Saunton Sands. Everyone meet in the car park at 6.30pm. The second will be held at the Tarka Centre on Thursday 24th July at 6.30pm. Expect both sessions to be tougher than last night!

15.07.08 - Brayford Cup draw

The draw has been made for the first round of the Brayford Cup. We have been drawn at home to local rivals Grosvenor. The tie is due to take place on Saturday 17th January 2009.

06.07.08 - Golf Day results

Despite the adverse weather conditions yesterday's golf day at Libbaton Golf Club was thoroughly enjoyed by all who entered. In an act of unprecedented banditry the foursome of Lee Ackland, Liam Monsell, Darren Babb and Brad Munden took the win from Darren Todd, Mark Barrow and Owen Pickard.

Unfortunately, due to the difficult conditions no one was able to win the nearest pin competition. Longest drive was won by Richie Joslin.

Special thanks to Jewson Barnstaple who kindly donated the first prize of a round at Trevose Golf Club, home of this year's English Amateur Open.

25.03.08 - Sid out of action

Bad news-Sid Daniel will be out of action for several weeks with a nasty foot injury received during Saturday's game versus Shammie. Updates will follow here.

23.03.08 - Pub Olympics results

The Wrey Arms in Barnstaple hosted our pub olympics last night. There were 16 Boca entrants in all participating in four events: darts, pool, skittles and a quiz. The results

Darts: Hot favourite Taz Wotton fell at the semi-final stage to Mike 'The Dolton Ranger' Cowell in the biggest upset of the evening. Cowler met Lee Capner in a pulsating final but it was the former Lovacott man Capner who secured a famous victory.

Pool: With skills usually seen in the Mosconi Cup the final was contested by Taz Wotton and Lewis Ovey with Ovey snatching it.

Skittles: With a determination normally reserved for only the biggest matches, Richard Shannon laid down an early marker to take the skittles title defeating all-comers but hadn't banked on the skills of Chris Collins who claimed the title.

Thanks to Mark at The Wrey Arms who also laid on a great roast turkey dinner for all entrants. Well worth checking out! Photos of the evening can be found here.

23.03.08 - Deakin hits 100th league goal

During yesterday's victory at Shamwickshire, Matt Deakin bagged our 100th league goal of the season. He was presented with a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne (kindly donated by Mark at the Wrey Arms) at last night's pub olympics. Well done Deaks!

19.03.08 - Westward Ho! Cup Semi-final news

Our Westward Ho! Cup semi-final match at Morwenstow has been arranged for Sunday 13th April, kick-off 2.30pm.

If we do manage to win anything this season, we'll do it the hard way, in a period from April 5th we've got 7 games in 18 days!

15.03.08 - Today's game v Lovacott postponed

Despite the best efforts of our ground staff today's match versus Lovacott at the Tarka Aqua Centre has been cancelled due to a very waterlogged pitch. The tie has been re-arranged for Sunday 6th April. All eyes now turn towards next Saturday-the biggest game of the season so far-against Shamwickshire.

15.03.08 - Boca Pub Olympics

Our next social event will be taking place next Saturday, 22nd March. The Boca Pub Olympics will be held at The Wrey Arms and will include events such as Pool, Darts, Skittles and hopefully Wii Golf and Boxing. All players welcome, Mark in the Wrey is laying on a free Roast Turkey dinner to all Boca competitors. More details here.

06.03.08 - Torridge Cup semi-final date

After last night's Torridge Cup win against Barnstaple Town, we have been drawn against Holsworthy in the semi-final. The tie will be held on neutral ground at Vicarage Road, Torrington on Thursday 17th April, kick-off 7.30pm.

17.02.08 - New signings!

Boca are pleased to announce the signings of three new players: Kurt Bayliss, Darren Hawkings and Owen Pickard. Kurt joins from Grosvenor/Lovacott but has played for Barnstaple Town for the past few seasons. Darren Hawkings will continue to play for Bideford Town but will be available as and when. Owen Pickard is currently a free agent and brings a wealth of experience thanks to spells at various professional clubs around the country. All three will be key in the final run-in to the end of the season.

26.01.08 - New venue for training

As of Wednesday 6th February, our venue for mid-week training will change from the Tarka Centre to Pilton Community College on their new astroturf facility. Time will also change to 6.30pm, lasting an hour and a half.

21.01.08 - Brayford Cup match v Hartland

After two postponements, our Brayford Cup match versus Hartland has been re-scheduled for this Saturday 26th January, kick-off 2pm. Please note that the game will be played at ROCK PARK.

18.01.08 - Tomorrow's game v Hartland postponed-again

Surprise, surprise! Due to the continued rainfall, tomorrow's Brayford Cup match versus has been postponed. Once details have been confirmed when the game will be re-scheduled they will be posted here.

16.01.08 - Barnstaple Boxing Club gala evening

We have booked a table for Barnstaple Amateur Boxing Club's annual gala evening at the Barnstaple Hotel, Braunton Road. Tickets cost £30 but £10 will be subsidised from club funds so the cost will be £20 per player. Look out for the photos later on this site on what should be another legendary evening of Boca male bonding!

The answers to our 'Toddy's Toddlers' competition are now on-line. Unfortunately no one was able to correctly identify all players correctly so the prize will roll over to the next competition. The draw for this year's Torridge Cup has been made. We have been drawn against Hartland at home and must be played by November 25th. Watch this space for date and time, hopefully we can go one better than last year's runner's up spot.

With the nights closing in more each week it'll soon be too dark to train on the pitch. The Tarka Tennis Centre management have kindly allowed us to use their floodlit outdoor facilities over the winter so we can continue with Toddy's brutal fitness regime. Days and times to be confirmed.

Influential midfielder Mark Barrow (pictured above with Manager Darren Todd) has ended all recent speculation and finally put pen to paper on a twelve month contract. A club source said yesterday that both parties are 'delighted' with the deal.
